More Than Just a Funny Bone: Preventing Growth Plate Injury

Learn how to quickly identify and avoid growth plate injuries in adolescent and children’s sports.

Adults and youth face the same risk of bone injuries, but because a child’s bones are still growing, children, unlike adults, are susceptible to growth plate injuries. Growth plate injuries are common in competitive youth athletes and must be quickly and correctly identified to prevent permanent damage.

All parents of growing athletes, as well as coaches and trainers who work with youth athletes, should fully understand the function and importance of growth plates. This article will explain:

How to Harness The Power of Anger and Use it to Achieve Greatness

I don’t know if it’s only me, but when someone tells me that I can’t do something, I will make damn sure to actually do it. Even if it’s something I didn’t even care about in the first place, some insignificant little useless thing, or act, or accomplishment.

This is because I hate being told that I can’t accomplish something. Anything.

Nothing grinds my gears more than being told I’m incapable. Nothing gets me more angry.

But that’s actually a good thing. I want people to tell me that. I often throw out some crazy ideas just to hear someone tell me I can’t do it, just so that I can get angry inside.

This might sound stupid at first, but let me explain why I see anger as a good thing:

Harnessing the Power of Inner Rage

harnessing the power of angerAnger is one of the most powerful feelings we can experience.

It can be used to do some serious damage, physical or mental. To others, but most often to yourself.

However most people don’t understand that you can actually build up this anger inside of you, to achieve great things. To prove something.

And once you do that. The anger disappears and is replaced by feelings of accomplishment, joy, and general bad-assery.

Let me give you an example:

About one year ago I had no money to my name, I was a car mechanic, and I had just finished my military service.

Everyone was expecting me to get back to my old shitty job of fixing cars for a living, but I decided not to. Instead I told everyone that I was going to start a blog about natural hormone optimization, and make that into a job to provide for myself.

As you might guess, nobody (with the exception of my girlfriend) believed in me.

I was told that I can’t make money via blogging because it’s not a “real job”. I was told that nobody could understand my writing because English is not my native language and I’m a terrible writer. I was told that nobody would take me seriously because I’m not a doctor…

…And yes, all of the doubts were quite legit when you think about it. Blogging is not recognized as a job in Finland, many readers probably find my text hard to read as English is not my main language, and my old writing teacher would probably faint if she’d know what I’m doing right now.

Obviously such claims made me borderline furious inside. I could of have expressed my anger to the doubters. I could of have given up on my dreams just to get back to my old shitty job in fixing old shitty cars. I could of have become depressed. Sad. Failure.

But instead of doing that. I harnessed the power of anger. I didn’t say anything back to the doubters. I listened to what they had to say, and quietly nodded my head like a little loser they thought I would be.

Little did they know, I was just building the anger inside of me, and I was going to use that anger to achieve greatness. To prove all of them wrong.

Inside of my head I was thinking along the lines of: “I’ll show them. I’ll show each and every fucking one of them. They can just wait and see what kind of productivity comes out of this inner rage.”

What did I accomplish with the inner anger?

Well, long story short, this blog was visited by more than 1,000,000 men last year, and currently ~12,000 men visit anabolicmen.com on a daily basis. That’s more than 300,000 people in a month. And did this turn into my job? Yes. I make 3-4 times the money that I could ever make as a car mechanic through this very blog alone.

That was all fueled by anger. I’m still a shitty writer, my native language is still Finnish, I’m still not a doctor…

…But I did show the doubters how it’s done by harnessing the power of anger. Each and every fucking one of them.

There’s no better feeling than that. Nothing makes me feel more alive.

That’s why I love anger. If you harness it in a right way, it can be an endless source of productivity and action. Nothing will get you going more than that. I promise you.

Don’t use the anger against you, or use it to hurt the others around you. Harness it. Build it inside and use it to do something great. Something productive. Something that helps people.

And most importantly, show the doubters how it’s done.
